Toga Pulla {Designer Review}

I absolutely love these buckle boots from Toga Pulla. To give you a run down on the designer Yasuko Furuta a former costume designer and stylist infuses an edgy glamour and avant-garde vision into his label.

Hedi Slimane Dissapoints at the YSL Show!

I guess this was expected since Hedi took over the house of Yves Saint Laurent. California Grunge was his inspiration for this collection.  But on the other hand critics were disappointed, they said it was "confusing" as he used excessive feathers, fringing, leather, lace, sequins, tailoring, baggy pants, capes, tribal pendants and the list goes on....For his first collection as creative director of Saint Laurent,Hedi Slimane took his inspiration from the fashion house’s archives, presenting an aesthetic thoroughly rooted in the brand’s history. For this, his second show, he appears to have done the opposite, creating a collection so far from the label’s style, people were double checking their invitations.

{Fashion Week} Part 3: Milan F/W RTW 13

The mode in Milan - reserved chic, beautiful coats and dresses. Tons of Italian traditional sex appeal and lady-like sophistication.

To see Part 1 NY & Part 2 London go here

* ETRO

A Kaleidoscope backdrop offered a clue to the hard edged collection. Veronica's influenced showed up in her collection from cathedral vaults to cathedral ceilings, 19th century ethnic textiles and Russian ceramics.

* BOTTEGA VENETA

Pure Romance is how I describe Thomas Maier's collection this season. His use of "wool" fabric taken to a whole new dimension, sculptured sleeves, exposed seams, volume with pleats - pretty and polished.

* JILL SANDER

The set had a polyhedron carved into it which was meant to represent the cut of a diamond. Timelessly elegant is probably best to describe this collection. Jackets were elongated and slightly cinched at the waist. Buckled shoes with a big heel. Her fabrics were mostly structured using double faced felts and leather for outerwear.

*GIANFRANCO FERRE

Designers Federico Piaggi and Stefano Citron' s show popped with constructed layered looks. Sharply tailored coats and a focus on the waist, shirts tucked into waists and oversized belts.

Some of my favorite Accessories from show.

White Hot!

White is the new black - at least for upcoming spring/summer. Add some black and its a sure winner - as seen all over the runways this season.
Although this post is a little premature as I look out the window at the foot of snow that still covers the ground like a crisp white blanket, it is still something to look forward to this coming S/S and a refresher from the seasons past dark and noisy graphic prints and colour pops.

I'm loving crisp white for summer and the amazing "all white: editorial below by Tony Irvine:
