The Sex Pistols, Joy Division, The Cramps, The Clash, Iggy Pop, The Killjoys, Skinny Puppy, etc. were some of the bands I listened to when I was in high school along with all my British friends - we were little punk rockers, so when I found out about this exhibition it brought back a lot of memories. The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be hosting an upcoming exhibit called Punk: Chaos to Couture from May 9 - August 14. It will examine punk's movement from the very beginning in the early 1970's to the influence it has on today's style.
It will feature 100 designers for men and women and include original and recent punk garments.
Online retailer Moda Operandi will also celebrate the exhibit with a collection designed by 13 leading labels including Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy and Balmain (what else!!). The range will launch May 2.
